Dielectric study of local relaxations in dendritic macromolecules

چکیده
The aim of this work is to characterize the dielectric properties of amorphous dendritic macromolecules as a function of architectural complexity. By combining thermostimulated currents and dynamic dielectric spectroscopy, the dielectric permittivity has been obtained as a function of temperature, in a very broad frequency range (10–10 Hz). Generations g = 0 to g = 2 were investigated. The molecular origin of the quasi-Debye mode observed for g = 0 at low temperature is common to all generations: localized reorientations of aldehyde end groups. The interactions with the phosphorus/sulfur (P = S) dipoles are probably responsible for the broadening pointed out in upper generations.

A broad spectrum analysis of the dielectric properties of poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)
The dielectric permittivity, 3 0, and the loss factor, 3 00, of dry poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) were measured using a dielectric analyzer in the frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 100 kHz and between the temperature range of K150 to 275 8C. The dielectric response of the sub-Tg g transition of PHEMA has been widely studied before but little to no DEA data above 50 8C is present in the literatur...
متن کاملCharge regulation and local dielectric function in planar polyelectrolyte brushes.
Understanding the effect of inhomogeneity on the charge regulation and dielectric properties, and how it depends on the conformational characteristics of the macromolecules is a long-standing problem. In order to address this problem, we have developed a field-theory to study charge regulation and local dielectric function in planar polyelectrolyte brushes. The theory is used to study a polyaci...
متن کاملDielectric relaxations in amorphous polymers with complex chain architectures
By combining thermostimulated current and dynamic dielectric spectroscopies, the dielectric properties characteristic of the molecular mobility can be described over a very broad frequency range. The study of dielectric relaxations of phosphorus-containing dendrimers in the sub-glass transition region, and of poly(n-alkyl methacrylates) at and above the glass transition region allows us to gain...
متن کاملA SIMPLE ALGORITHM FOR COMPUTING TOPOLOGICAL INDICES OF DENDRIMERS
Dendritic macromolecules’ have attracted much attention as organic examples of well-defined nanostructures. These molecules are ideal model systems for studying how physical properties depend on molecular size and architecture. In this paper using a simple result, some GAP programs are prepared to compute Wiener and hyper Wiener indices of dendrimers.

Multiarm star polymers, denoted PEIx-PLAy and containing a hyperbranched poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) core of different molecular weights x and poly(lactide) (PLA) arms with y ratio of lactide repeat units to N links were used in this work. Samples were preconditioned to remove the moisture content and then characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) ...
